Navajo Dine' Made Vintage Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace
SKU: TSQ1
This is a unique Navajo (Dine') made turquoise squash blossom necklace. We were drawn to this piece because of the square turquoise stones. We purchased the necklace from a couple who met the artist. It was made in the 1970's and the couple could not remember the artist's name. It is not signed and there is no sterling silver mark. We believe that it is solid sterling silver from the weight and the way that it polishes up. It measures approximately 22 inches from the top to the center of the Naja (upside down horseshoe shape). The Naja measures approximately 3 inches by 3 inches. The naja represent the hands of the Great Spirit (God) reaching down to earth and symbolizes the link between the spirit worlds and the physical. The turquoise stones are approximately 3/8 inch wide but some are larger. Some of the stones show hairline cracks. If you are interested in seeing the necklace in person, it is currently displayed at the South Tacoma Antique Mall (see the home page for more information). You can also email us for more detailed pictures or information. Native American Made
